We got a jar with caterpillars in it from my son's teacher on the last day of school. The company had delivered them to late to use for a class project so she asked if we would like them. It was so fun for the kids to watch the whole process take place right in our living room. The caterpillars ate some paste in the bottom of the jar and then attached themselves to a paper in the lid. After a week we removed them from the jar and placed them in the Butterfly habitat and waited. Four days later the first Butterfly emerged and we watched as it pumped up it's wings. Soon all the butterfly's had emerged from their Chysalis' and flying around the habitat. We took them outside and freed them. One Butterfly wasn't quite ready and sat on our son's hand for 20 minutes and then flew away. It was an amazing process and we learned so much.
Kit used was a Scrap That Idea (STI) collab - A Perfect Day, Alpha - STI collab - Get Happy, Font - Susie's Hand.
